After the success of the vision board party, Roz felt invincible. But as Monday arrived, she was reminded of the challenges that still lay ahead. Her nonprofit job, with its micromanaging supervisor and stifling environment, loomed large. Roz knew it was time to take her rebellion to the next level.
When Roz walked into her supervisor Delilah’s office that afternoon, she was ready. Delilah launched into her usual passive-aggressive remarks about email response times, but Roz stood her ground. “Delilah, let’s cut to the chase,” Roz said, her voice steady. “For the past three years, you’ve undermined my intelligence and disrespected the youth we serve. I’m done. Two weeks from today will be my last day here.”
Delilah sat in stunned silence as Roz calmly walked out. The weight of years of frustration lifted with every step Roz took. Sitting in her car, she sent a group text to the Motley Crew: “I waged the ultimate Sassy Rebellion. I quit.”
The responses flooded in: “OMG, you didn’t!” “Roz, you’re a legend!” “Tell us EVERYTHING!” Roz laughed, knowing she had just taken a huge step toward showing up for herself.
This act of rebellion wasn’t impulsive. It was the result of months of planning and self-reflection. Roz had big plans for 2025, and quitting her job was just the beginning. She couldn’t wait to see where the Sassy Rebellion would take her next.
